STARS relies on Volunteers to work along side the qualified staff to assist with groups or provide direct one-to-one work with children experiencing typical grief reactions.

We recruit, train and work with volunteers who can offer support at various levels within the service.  This includes:

providing 1-1 support as directed by the counselling team across Cambridgeshire

offering voluntary support to manage the resources library

additional administration support to the counselling team

contribution to fundraising activities.

We also have some trainee counsellors who train and work with us on a work placement as part of their counselling course.

If you are interested in any aspect of our volunteer work, you should check the volunteer vacancies section for volunteer vacancies.

You can register an interest by emailing info@talktostars.org.uk

We also have opportunities for those counsellors who also wish to join our training team and provide training to professionals and organisations through STARS.

You can register an interest by emailing info@talktostars.org.uk

Each volunteer is expected to undergo training, work under supervision and is managed by our employed counsellors.

Each volunteer must agree to undertake enhanced CRB checks before training commences.

Volunteers who work with us do so under very strict boundaries and guidelines to protect all concerned.
